Terms of service
Terms that govern your use of this website and our services.
These Terms of Service form an agreement between you and Caroline Chen ("we", "us", "our"), the operator of chinainnovationtrip.com and the trade name "China Innovation Trip". By using this website or engaging us for a program, you accept these terms.
1. Scope of the service
China Innovation Trip provides private, by-invitation executive innovation programs in China, including itinerary design, business meeting coordination, in-field advisory, daily synthesis, and post-program follow-through. We do not provide medical, legal, financial, immigration, or tax advice. Clinical, regulatory, and financial decisions remain the responsibility of the client and their own advisors.
2. No guarantees
We do not guarantee the availability of any specific company meeting, facility, or business outcome. Access to third-party companies, government sites, and venues is subject to relevance, prior relationship, security, and availability at the time of booking. Information about technology, markets, and individual institutions is accurate to the best of our knowledge at the time of publication but may change without notice.
3. Booking and cancellation
A program becomes binding only after a written confirmation that specifies the scope, dates, cities, party size, fee, and cancellation terms. Unless a different schedule is agreed in writing, the following default schedule applies:
- Cancellation more than 60 days before the program start: 25% of the fee.
- Cancellation 30–60 days before: 50% of the fee.
- Fewer than 30 days before: 100% of the fee.
International and intercity flights, hotels, meals, and personal expenses are not included in the program fee unless explicitly confirmed in writing.
4. Client responsibilities
- Provide truthful information about the group, health needs, and access requirements.
- Arrange valid travel documents, visas, and insurance.
- Conduct themselves professionally during meetings and site visits.
- Comply with the security, confidentiality, and photography rules of each host.
5. Intellectual property
All content on this website — including text, photographs, layout, design, brand marks, and the "China Innovation Trip" name — is owned by Caroline Chen or her licensors and is protected by copyright, trademark, and database rights. You may:
- Read and link to pages for personal or internal corporate evaluation.
- Quote brief excerpts with clear attribution and a link back to the source page.
You may not:
- Copy, republish, or scrape the website in bulk, or use it to train machine-learning models without prior written consent.
- Use the "China Innovation Trip" name, logo, or imagery to suggest affiliation, partnership, or endorsement that does not exist.
- Remove or alter copyright, trademark, or attribution notices.
6. Third-party services and links
The website links to third-party services such as Calendly for call scheduling. We do not control and are not responsible for their availability, content, privacy practices, or terms. Your use of any third-party service is at your own risk and subject to that provider's own terms.
7. Disclaimer of warranties
The website and any related materials are provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, non-infringement, and quiet enjoyment.
8. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, loss of profits, revenue, data, goodwill, or business opportunities, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages. Our total aggregate liability arising out of or relating to your use of the website or a program will not exceed the fees actually paid by you to us for the relevant program.
9. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Caroline Chen from any claim brought by a third party arising out of your breach of these terms, your misuse of the website, or your violation of any law or third-party right.
10. Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws applicable at the place of business of Caroline Chen, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. We will first attempt to resolve any dispute informally. If that is not possible, the dispute will be submitted to the competent court at that same place of business, unless a mandatory consumer-protection law in your country gives you the right to bring proceedings in your own courts.
11. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The "last updated" date below will reflect the most recent revision. Continued use of the website after a change means you accept the revised terms.
